      Brief Resort Overview: Bomio is located in the Italian Alps at an attitude of 1225mn, 120 miles NE of Milan. Bomio is a large ski village in the Alta Valtellina. Although there are several ski areas to choose from connected by a ski bus service the most obvious choice is the main (Bormio) mountain which rises straight from the village to 3000m. Bormio is a compact little area that rocks with lots of vertical. There can be an amazing amount of powder on the upper bowls and hidden in the glades below. Non-skiers and skiers alike will want to make a day trip to visit nearby St. Moritz or the duty free ski area of Livigno frequent host to the World Cup races. Tired skiers and non-skiers will greatly appreciate the Bagni Vecchi which has hot springs caves and several different steam, sauna and soaking rooms. Bormio has a small historic area which houses several old and quaint Italian restaurants.

      Principal advantages of the resort: Bormio is an excellent choice for skiers and non-skiers alike. Although expert skiers may be a little bored the fine dining and hot springs will probably more than make up for it. Besides St. Moritz and Livigno are near enough to visit during the day. Also there are several affordable quality hotels located a few steps from the ski lifts and old town.
